Played on the band shell mainstage of St. Petersburg's First Night celebration, and showcased on the national radio program All Things Considered.
Also marked the evolution of our stage combat from Slapstick to Potentially Deadly. This piece evolves over the years to become the foundation of the Mr. Y-not section of The Epic of Yerffej.
FervorQuest's first feature performance - a full-moon festival show in the sold out State Theatre in downtown St. Petersburg.
Still bound by the purity of using nothing but found-instruments (and the occasional violin), FQ established all of its signature elements - Fire, Stage Combat, and Thunderous Drums.
Said sword dancer Blaze Birge, "When I saw DeRosa's hair on fire, I knew these guys were serious."
Most of the scenes from the full length 'Epic of Yerffej' have been workshopped and/or performed numerous times over the years. This performance featured all of the scenework and music from Act I, with the choreography and action being described through Narration.
It is worthy of note that an untethered shih-tzu ran up onto the stage during a moment of particular fervor, and was very nearly splattered by the seething animus, Yerffej the Destroyer.
The Other is a piece shot on film and video, and used in our 2001 production of The Epic of Yerffej.
It takes place in Act III, where The Administrator reveals to Yerffej the tragic consequences of his actions in a previous lifetime.
Many special thanks to our incredibly good humored cast, who showed up for rehearsal one day and suddenly found themselves wearing nothing but loincloths outside in the middle of winter in Seattle.
